DEDICA TION To a person who has been an inspiration in the lives of so many boys and girls of Spring Hill High Schoolg who has caused so many of her students to strive for greater achievements in subject matter and proper action at all timesg who has been a tower of strength in this community in all phases of services to so many who never knew or acknowledged the deedsg who has broadened the horizon of her students by being the prime factor in so very many senior trips to worthwhile places and giving them the benefit of her world-wide travels, we, the Annual Staff and her friends grate- fully dedicate the 1971 Spring Hill Yearbook. Space does not permit the listing of her contributions to the good of the students, school and community of Spring Hill, but this will in a small way express the esteem and appreciation to such a lovely person as our MISS ANNE DAVIS. l PANTHER Spring Hill High School Published by Yearbook Stajy Longview, Texas Volume XXX . 1 x N F 3 Q 2 E 2 ! 3 E E 5 94 W f f' Av? 1 !,,,.,f5V Fw M, ' Foreword Growth is Evident It seems that just about everything is grow- ing, The population is growing, the cities are growing, and schools are growing. Spring Hill is no exception. People are moving into our community faster than ever before. The Spring Hill School has had to expand greatly to accom- modate the increasing number of students. We, the students at Spring Hill, are growing not only in numbers, but in many other ways. The school is a place where we come to grow in maturity, because we associate with other people. We learn to think for ourselves and to make decisions. Growing up has its bright spots, like passing an English test, making a lst place in band, making a perfect angel food cake, and making the varsity squad in basketball. Growing up also has its disasters, too, like learning that ou.r parents found a letter in the mailbox that was sent by the school, learning that only one point was needed for a trip to regional, and having out best friend steal our date to the athletic banquet. These are all part of growing up, and each one of us must grow in our own way. Right now, we might be wishing we were grown already, but the time will come when we will be wishing we had stopped to enjoy our youth. Q As we thumb through this year- book many years from now, we will once again think over those years, and realize how much more we have grown. For a yearbook is like an excellent wineg it be- comes more valuable and cherished as the years go by. I.
