Versch Mr. Young must have a multi-split-personality to keep up with his many activitiesg including psychology and mechanical drawing classes, assisting with coaching and also as guidance counselor. But his real speciality must be lunch-line diplo- macy ! Mr. Versch is a hard driver both in Driver's Education class and in athletics. As Director of Activities, he is responsible tracting the officals. Is that a winning smile? I gf l 0 R 20 for the scheduling of all the Inter-School events as well as con- Swope Montgomery Chief, our fine coach, displayed his great courage this year by taking on the first Girls' Shop Class. Along with Boys' Shop, he was Assistant Foot- ball Coach, Head Basketball Coach, and Head Man in track. Mr. Montgomery's secret weapon-- a yellow shirt--won him the admiring glances of all the girls at S.l-LH. S. He was head wrestling Coach and assist ed in other sports. L 'Q 1i ww get -A- Q. Well, how about that! SURPRISE! That Bad? 22 I will not talk I will not talk I will not talk 1 ..' Du rr Mr. Durr, versatile in the area of music, led the Pep Band through spirited pep rallies. The noise we heard from Mrs. Mohn's classes was music to our ears. A slap on the knee was a cure for any unwanted noise. Mohn iam: w W Q , w , I Q 4 v 4 5 I H m ,lg Jonas Mrs. Jonas kept up with a bone-breaking schedule this year by teaching Latin I, French I and II, and freshman English, but she got plenty of exercise hobbling through the halls of SHHS. Mrs. Taylor watched over Mrs. Ionas' linguists during her absence. As a first year teacher, Mrs. Wheeler found much to challenge her many abilities. She taught English Il and Ill, debate, and forensics as well as sponsoring Thespians, the junior play and the sophomore class. As Mrs. Wheeler leaves SHHS to continue her own education at U. M. K. C. , we wish her good luck. Wheeler 11 Dupont . . Sloan Miss Dupont had a busy schedule this year teaching Personal Typing, Bookkeeping, Shorthand, and Office Practice to her children. Miss Sloan's favorite words, Now, girls! were used very often in her I-Iomemaking classes. She made a very good Marriage and Family Living teacher, even if she was single. ,-4 '4 , ,,,,,, 25 johnson . . Evans Check out the library! Whether 'y'ou're just browsing , frantic over that term a er due last hour or usin the libra P P S ry during Study Hall, you'1l find a dedicated friend in Mrs. John- son. A to Z she can help you get that needed information. Our thanks to her is long overdue . I-lark! The rain in Spain fell some on the plains of Kansas, thanks to Mrs. Evans' drama classes. On stage and in the class room, imagination and interesting experimentation were fea- tured. We're sorry to lose Mrs. Evans to greener pastures , but We're con- fident that her actors will carry on in the best dramatic tradition. 26 i Nettleton . .
