Text from Pages 1 - 108 of the 1972 volume:

I came here as one with hopes, doubts, dreams, and eager with enthusiasm. Days slipped past me, routine filled, monotonous dags. Yet, somehow, I grew. Through the tears, the laughter, and the shouts. Filled . . . at times with total frustration or anger, Sometimes with etchilaration and belonging . . . I learned. Now I have to stand back in silence, watching the something pass, tahing with it everyone I hnew and everything I was involved in. Those dreams . . . some of them . . . became memories . . . somehow. I looh: ahead to see a confused world with endless possibilities and it's mine. I came here as a child and here the child must stag. I am the sum of all that happened here . . . Nova, Spring Hill's community action organization, pro- vides many opportunities, some or all of which are not found in other organizations. Nova's projects vary widely in the kinds of service that they render. Perhaps the oldest project is Mt. Vernon. Another project is spe- cifically aimed at aiding Mexican-Americans. Nova sends groups of students to Mobile Terrace, a local community center, and to Wilmer Hall, a neighboring orphanage. At these locations students teach the basic skills of read- ing, Writing and arithmetic, to adults at the former and to children at the latter.
