F Q1-f'ZE.'W CRD N presenting this book we have tried, while recording as faithfully as possible the school year, also to put into these pages something of the spirit that is the real Spring Hill. This spirit is the result of the comradeship of gen- tlemen, of the close association of these men with God, and with God's servants, the Jesuits. The Spring Hill spirit has been conceived and nurtured by generations of Christian gentle- men, unfailing in their devotion to God., to culture, and to the welfare of their country. It is this glorious heritage of industry, rever- ence, courage, and fellowship which we have received from the past, which we have en- deavored to carry on, and which we now leave for the Spring Hill of the future. If, in the years to come, this book succeeds in recapturing for its readers any of the priceless life that was theirs at Spring Hill, we shall feel fully repaid for our efforts. 1. 24 -A
