Industry T has been said that the greatest component of genius is the ability to work. Certainly no man is worth his salt who has not applied his talents industriously and consistently to the accomplishment of shaping his manhood to his destiny. In the history of Spring Hill many great teachers and great students have labored to that purpose in its halls. But all true Spring- hillians, whether great or small, have in the degree of their ability offered up their work, their sincere endeavor, as the noblest ex- pression of their being to the God Who gave them their powers. Thus have they worked in the full realization that they were only the stewards of their physical and intellectual wealth. In a world of turmoil and strife, of sophistry and frivilousness Spring Hill men have learned to maintain their perspective, to realize the true dignity of labor and have striven to earn the famous award, Well done thou good and faithful servant. The galaxy of great alumni in Spring I-Iill,s history, who won varied eminence by incessant application of the logic and ethics of their training, lights the uniqueness of that college story, and multiplies our motive and stimulus to perpetuate their tradition by the enrich- ment of conscientious toil. , I 8 YL' ' i KY .I nxn:aro: -mm, t -
