Armed with such a complete knowl- edge, the student is capable of entering the great battle with the worldg and by unfailing adherence to the tenets taught him, enabled to meet successfully all combatants and to emerge triumphant. Spring Hill offers its students a com- plete education, On entering high school a student may continue through college without change of school. Education, as understood by the Je- suits, is the full development of all the faculties that are characteristic of man, the physical, intellectual, moral. It is not the purpose of the Jesuit system to over burden the student, rather it strives to obtain for him a well-balanced course, from which the scholar can obtain that which is best suited to his faculties, and to the unforeseen difficulties which may arise in life. Moreover there is no overlap- ping of the faculty, each department hav- ing its own officers and teachers. This plan offers the student a very decided advantage. It secures for his course a uniformity of method which can hardly be had otherwise. It precludes interruptions and set-hacks that are all but unavoidable when change of school and teaching is made. The system does not share the il- lusion of those who seem to imagine that education, understood as an enriching and stimulating of the intellectual fac- ulties, is merely hy itself a morally ele- vating influence in human life.
