Floyd fin- shed his eligibility this year, while earning his first A 1etter, He nade his presence felt against op- :osing teams. He weighs 160 lbs. .ee Axtens was one of the co-cap- ains this year for the A team. .ee was known for his fire and fine Jimmie Stewart was one of the fastest boys on the team, but was a little light. He has two years of eligibility left and should turn into a very good back. Jimmie weighs 140 lbs. Red Cunningham was one of the returning lettermen f r o m la s t year's team. He completes his eligibility this year. He is a guard and weighs' about 213 lbs. 1 X 1 gt' i I' Bob Kuykendallwas one 'of the ends on the ' Steer squad this year, Near the end of P the season he broke an arm and wlaying, both offense and defense. le was one of the best centers in ,istrict this year. He weighs about 72 lbs. . ' M 5 5 did not finish the Season. Bob will be a returning letterman forthe Steers. Billy Tubb - This was Tubby's first wood. A 'KE 1 1252: Above - Howard Wash- burn--Wash weighed 152. ' V Q Tubbs. In the background 9371 is Lee Axtens 1471 and 1' Don Low f45lofBrown- n Right-Billy Bishop A of Brownwood rips off a few yards against the Steers. Coming in for the tackle a r e Howard Washburn and Billy lbs. and was one of the smartest quarterbacks in the district. He was also a good ball handler and accurate passer. Wash graduates this year a two year letter- man. year of varsity ball and he made the most of it. He was one of the hard- est running backs in the district, He was a good down field blocker and a good man to have in interference. Billy completed his year of eligibil- ity a one year letterman, on Paul Fortenberry- Paul earned his J second letter this year at a starting tackle. He weigh- ed 175 lbs. and 2 21 handled boys much A - lj-, g bigger than he with K. ,. ease, Paul had a fi 'lrr V A' knee injury, but , ' ' played most of ther j Tl season in spite of '5'i V this. Below: Amos Jones takes the ball near his own goal, but seems to be hernnied in by the Sweetwater Mustangs. Coming up is Carrol Cannon. Richard Laswell - Dick lettered his second year this past season and has another year of eligibility. He was a good tackle on offense and defense.
