'Zakir ... 5.5. H. 5' S Coach Carl Coleman came here as head coach from Stanford, Texas. Coleman is a graduate of A.C.C. and is considered one of the out standing coaches in West Texas. Coach Cole- man has shown the ability to get the most out of the boys. We know that he will bring some good teams to Big Spring in future years. Managers below: Left - Robert Ragan, one of the A team's managers, has proved very capable for the job. Robert shows willingness and a friendly attitude,which is very necessary in holding the job. Right - Melvin Byers, who would have made agood guard this year, was ineligible because of the 8 semester rule Melvin has proved himself as good a manager as he was a player, I r 1 Coach Be rt Brewer came here as assistant coach from Goldthwaithe, Texas, where he was head coach. Coach Brewer is a grad- uate of A.C.C., where he was an outstanding back and track man. He is the kind of coach who can keep the boys' spirit high, win or lose.

Coming in for the tackle a r e Howard Washburn and Billy lbs. and was one of the smartest quarterbacks in the district. He was also a good ball handler and accurate passer. Wash graduates this year a two year letter- man. year of varsity ball and he made the most of it. He was one of the hard- est running backs in the district, He was a good down field blocker and a good man to have in interference. Billy completed his year of eligibil- ity a one year letterman, on Paul Fortenberry- Paul earned his J second letter this year at a starting tackle. Richard Laswell - Dick lettered his second year this past season and has another year of eligibility. He was a good tackle on offense and defense.
