“Class History In the fall of 1955, forty-one “green ' Freshmen began their days in Spring Green High. After the hustle and bustle of the first few days, we held our first class meeting with the aid of our class adviser, Mr. Bassler. We elected Jerry Hogan as President; Sharon Coyle, Vice- President; Mary Kraemer, Secretary; and Tom Heber, Treasurer. Our first big event of our high school days started with ini- tiation and our Sophomore return party. During that year, we lost ten members: Rudy Ewers, Brandock Peters, Marilyn Ransden, Lawrence Schneider, Bryce Wanless, Clarence Swenson, Evelyn Tackett, Douglas Pope, and Helen Stewart. In 1956, we returned no longer shy, but to begin the school year as Sophomores. We gained three new members: Donald Hackl, David Schlaegel, and Paul Thuli, bringing our class to a total of thirty-four members. Our new officers were: Tom Heber, President; Lynne Jordan, Vice-President; Kaaren Larson, Secretary; and Paul Thuli, Treasurer. Mr. Reddan acted as our class adviser and we proudly initiated the Freshmen. Herbert Pletzer left us during this year. We began our Junior year with thirty-two excited “upper- classmen. We elected as President, Marvin Moe; Vice-President, Kaaren Larson; Secretary, Leslie Gruber; and Treasurer, Sondra Miller. We received our class rings which made us feel like real upperclassmen. Our big event of the year was our Junior Prom which was held May 16. We voted to have Morrison Studio take our pictures. We chose Leon Neuheisel to reign as king and his queen was Mary Kraemer. Our theme was “Sayonara. Our advisers this year were Mrs. Gilbertson and Mr. Murphy. During our Junior year, Virginia Frees, Ton Johnson, Walter Loether, Pete Rogers, and Mary Ellen Uselman left us. The day came in the fall of 1958 when we could enter as SENIORS with a class of twenty-six in Spring Green High School. Our Senior year was one filled with lasting memories. We began working on our Annual. Tom Heber reigned over the homecoming festivities as king with his queen Sandra Brown, a Sophomore. Our class play, measuring of caps and gowns, our class trip, and planning our commencement exercises made us realize we would soon graduate from S.G.H.S. Baccalaureate was May 24, Class Night - May 26, and Grad- uation Night - May 28. We received our diplomas with mixed emotions of happiness and sadness. We can now more fully understand our class motto “Not the sunset, but the dawn. Sponsor: HELEN D. RICHARDSON FUNERAL AMBULANCE SERVICE HUNT’S GENERAL STORE
