FLOWER Roses COLORS Red and White CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1954, thirty-five “green” freshmen entered Spring Green High School. After a few days of confusion, we had our first class meeting, and with the help of our class advisors, Mrs. Hanson and Mr. Tellefson, we elected our class officers. For our president, we chose Joe Hogan; vice-president. Bob Haslow; secretary, Alice Mueller; and treasurer, Rosemary Baryenbruch. We gained three new members this year. They were John Crook, Sandra Smelzer, and Carol Dickenson. Pat Gutewyler and Betsy Wilcox left our class. In our sophomore year, we lost most of our bashfulness and no longer walked on our tip-toes down the corridors. Now we were look- ing forward to welcoming the new freshmen by the old tradition of initiation. The following officers were elected this year: Jim Schoen- mann, president; Bill Brummer, vice-president; Sharon Richardson, secretary; and Tom Fleming, treasurer. Our class advisors were Mrs. Gilbertson and Mr. Reddan. Sharon Richardson, Charlotte Ball, Joyce Magli, and John Crook left our class this year. Breathlessly, we began our junior year. This year we had the privilege of being called “upper-classmen.” We received our class rings, displaying them as if they were jewels. Our class advisors were Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Gilbertson. For our junior class president we chose Jim Hole; vice-president, Dave Koenig; secretary, JoAnn Pretsch; and treasurer, Judy Limmex. We selected Jim Hole to reign as king of our prom which was held May 18. Jim chose Rosemary Baryenbruch as his queen. Our theme was “Canadian Sunset.” We gained one member this year, Dewey Haas. Jon Blynn, Don Hackl, and Donna Julson left our junior class. Thus after three years of hard work, as well as fun, our class reached the dignity and prestige of seniors. Our class advisor this year was Mr. Fox. The officers were Dewey Haas, president; Bill Brummer, vice-president; Marilynne Zins, secretary; and Dave Koenig, treasurer. Joe Hogan and Judy Limmex reigned over the 1957 home- coming festivities. In October, we had our class pictures taken by the Morrison Studio. In November, our dear friend and classmate, our junior president and prom king, Jim Hole, passed away. The day we had been working toward for the past four years was here at last. We graduated on May 29, with our two major accomplish- ments during our senior year being our class play and our annual. The end of our high school days came at last, always to be remem- bered for their fun and friendship. The thrills of basketball and foot- ball games, dances, dates, and friends will never be forgotten. SENIOR CLASS WILL James Alt - Wills his ability to miss school to Marvin Moe. One of the chief accomplishments of the year came last fall when the senior band participated in the Plattville State Teacher's College Homecoming parade, and out of the twelve bands which marched in the parade, received a first rating. The music department presents a Christmas concert annually and also participates in various other events throughout the year. In the spring the school orchestra sponsores a Night Club which includes dancing and other entertainment and is open to the public. Both the band and chorus take part in the district music festival which is held in the spring.
