The class of '57 entered the Spring Green High School in September of 1953. With the help of our class advisors, Mr. Tell- efson and Miss Borcherding, we had our first class meeting and elected Dick Prouty, Barbara Buchner, Bill Hutter, and Bob Prouty as our officers. During this year we lost two members: Duane Cowley and Sandra McKune. The high lights of the year were our initiation and sophomore parties. In our sophomore year, we no longer tiptoed (?) down the halls of old S.G. H. S. During this year we lost four more members: Janina Puttkamer. Duane Roller, Pat Gutwiler, and William Clary. Janis Crook, Jeanette Dorley, and Ronnie Smelzer joined us; and Verda Ruhland didn't return this year. Monte Hottmann, Jerry Cummings, Terry Brown, and Russell Schauf were our officers for the year. Mrs. Consigny was our class advisor. Thirty-seven of us entered our junior year as upper classmen. We received our class rings and sponsored our Prom. Our Prom took place on May 18, and the theme was Out of this World . The grand march was let by our president and his queen, Bob Prouty and Shirley Olson. Other officers that year were Dan Nachreiner, Carolyn Longseth, and Darlene Brummer. The success of our junior year goes to our Advisor, Mr. Howard. Joyce Bohnsack, Ronnie Smelzer, LaVeme Robson, and Lawrence Lovesee didn't return this year. Pat Magli and Jerry Cummings left during the year. Leo Duren, Wilbert Cummings, Don Beck, and Joe Ruetten joined the armed forces. Marion Weidemann joined the class. We came back our senior year with only 32 members. Our officers were Terry Brown, Floyd Gruber, Carolyn Farnsworth, and Charles Underbrink. We chose red and white carnations for our class flower; and our class colors were red and white. Today Decides Tomorrow was chosen as our class motto. Having our pictures taken, being measured for our caps and gowns, editing the annual, and presenting our class play made us realize that we would soon be graduates of S. G. H. S. Baccalaureate was May 26. Class Night May 29; and Gradu- ation Night was May 31.
