On September 3. 1952. forty-one green FRESHMEN began walking the halls of Spring Green High School. Shortly after school was in full-swing , we held our first class meeting and elected John Schauf, president; Jerry Baryenbruch, vice-pres- ident; Marcia Kessenich, secretary; and Katherine Thuli as treasurer. Of course, the first big event we looked forward to was initiation, which took place September 18. During this year, our class advisors were Miss Borcherding and Mr. Mueller. On September 1, 1933, we returned to school as Sophomores to find we had gained three new mem- bers—Janet Tackett, James Rueter, and Mike Doran. During the year we lost Jo Ann Luther, Mary Magli, Darrell Paske, Linda Van Coulter, and Richard and Jacqueline Wall. This year, we chose Mike Doran, president; Louie Weston, vice-president; Carol Dederich, secretary; and re-elected Katherine Thuli as treasurer. Mr. Carter acted as our class advisor. We returned for our Junior year Betty Richardson was no longer with Lagerman, and David Koller; how- Johnson, and Adrian Julson. Our dent and prom king; Valita Richar- urer. After receiving our class rings, on August 31, 1954, to find that us. Later in the year we lost Deloris ever, we gained James Dahl, Deloris class officers were Ken Brickl, presi- son, secretary; and Bonnie Urfer, treas we felt we were true upper-classmen. In October we looked forward to Homecoming. King Jim Gruber, Class of '55« chose Marilyn Maxwell of our class for his queen. With Homecoming off our minds, we began to think about our prom. We chose In A Little Spanish Town for the theme and then plunged headlong into committee work, to give the best prom in the history of Spring Green High Schooll Ken Brickl chose Lillian Loether as his queen to rein with him over the beautiful festivities held on May 13, 1955- During this year, Mr. Howard was our class advisor and he was very generous in giving his time to help with our prom and the various other activities of the class. As this school year drew to a close, we were happy to hear that Bonnie Urfer and Tom Underbrink were chosen to attend Badger Girls' State and Badger Boys’ State. yie- S '- CLASS HISTORY

September 6, 1955 was a big day for us. We entered Spring Green High School as SHNIORS1 We found that we had lost six members--Dorothy Davenport, Ken Brickl, Don Cummings, Jim Dahl, Adrian Julson, and Margie Rogers--and gained only one new member, Paul Weitzel. We elected Don Larson as president; Tom Underbrink, vice-president; Valita Richardson, secretary; and Mary Schmid, treasurer. Mr. Fox acted as our class advisor. Homecoming was October 21, and Jerry Baryenbruch of our class was chosen king. He chose Alice Mueller, a sophomore, for queen. We voted Harper Studio to snap our class pictures. Next came our opportunity to use our ability, under the very able guidance of our advisor, Mr. Fox, in editing an annual of which the CLASS OF 1956 could be proud. This finished, we began thinking of our class play, class trip, and, finally, commencement week. Baccalaureate was on Sunday, May 27, and Class Night, Tuesday, May 29. We received our diplomas with the mingled emotions of happiness and sadness on May 31. We now had a fuller appreciation of the mean- ing of our class motto: Out of the harbor and into the sea of life. a £ '
