CI4SS HISTORY We entered the Spring Green High School in September of 195-U Naturally as all freshmen are, the 50 of us that entered were plenty green. With the help of our class advisors, Mr. Pratt and Mr. Howard—later on Mr. Dalton—we had our first class meeting. We elected Dick Urfer as our president, Sharom Paske as vice-president. Bob Nachriener as secretary, and Ken Maxwell as treasurer. As freshmen we couldn't escape the usual initiation. To show the sophomores we didn't mind the pranks played on us we gave them a party. Wayne Fenner and Jo Ann Gonner were lost from our class, and James Ostermeyer was gained our freshmen year. In our sophomore year we no longer tiptoed down the halls of old S. G. This year Alois Gruber, Marjorie Gutwiler, and the Nachriener Twins did not come back and Sharoa Paske, Neil Phillips, and the Pletzer Twins left our ranks. During the year Johny Reisinger, Jeanette Loether, And Betty Rose were gained, however, Betty did not stay. This year we elected Ken Maxwell as our president; vice-president, Fred Kritz; secretary, Marita Neuheisel, and Emma Thuli as our treasurer. Mr. Carter anti Mr. Kens were our advisors. Our Junior year began with U6 well-seasoned members. This was the year that we gained the title of upperclassmen and this was also the year that we got our class rings, and sponsored the BEST” prom Spring Green has eve: seen. This great event took place nay 15, l95d to the theme of Garden in the Rain played by the well-known orchestra, Dan Garson. The Grand March was lead by our president, Ve-lyn Schmid and his queen, Shirley Reuter . Other officers that year were as follows: Vice-president, Dick Urfer; Secretary, Bill Hogan; Treasurer, Bob Kinglestetter. The great sucess of our Junior year goes to our advisor, Mr. Howard. Our Junior year Jerry Alt and Leon Dederich didn't Join our happy ranks However, we gained Don Hanko, Edith Thomas, Dick Nachreiner, Alice Rogers, and Darlene Legler, who left us that same 2'ear. This was also the 6th year that a Junior giri was sent by the Spring Green Auxiliary to attend Badger Girl's State. Marita Neuheisel was chosen by the faculty for this honor. When we came back our Senior year we found that we had lost John Reisinger, Ruth Allert, Dick Nachreiner, Alice Rogers, Elaine Bowell, and Gary Banker, who joined the Navy. Bruce Ewers, Bill Hopkins, and Bill Fosnow left us later in the year. President Don Hanko lead our class with the help of Vice-president Bill Crook; Secretary, Jeanette Loether; and Treasurer, Bob Ringelstetter. Mr. Pratt and Mr. Fox acted as class advisors. This year the Homecoming festivity was lead by Bill Crook, who chose Betty Vorndran as his Queen. Delonge studios was elected to take our Senior class pictures. This event took place in the English room on Oct. }, 1953• Now that the pictures were taken we were measured for our caps and gowns, which established in our minds that we would soon be graduates.
