AHSITY HUIIHEY The H955 hockey season opened with a host of girls working hard for the open berths on the first Spring-Ford hockey team. L'nder the eapable coaching of Mrs. Enirey the varsity team got ofl to a good season by de- feating Clollegeville fl-U. With this first victory to spur them on. the girls journeyed to Owen Roberts and lost a Close contest. fl-2. Still SIIllll'llIlQ from their first defeat. the team traveled to Sehwenksxille. lit' playing a hard- fonght game. the varsity turned in another vie- torv bv seoring two goals and holding' the op- INYIIVIIIN to llflllfi Spring-Ford played the next game in a down pour of rain. but easily defeated XN'est Potts grove 'S-fl. lhe n ext game was a big one. 'l'he girls met Iioyertown. holders of first place in the league J Iioth teams were evenly matched. and the thrill- paeked contest ended in a 2-2 tie. ln the final game ol' the season Spring-Fort played host to a very strong and last Conestoga team. C'onr-stoga handed the girls their second loss fi-ll. llns concluded at fairly sueeessliul season with rlnet- ni ns. two losses. and one tie.
