65,29 Q HQ Wgl iq FOGTBALL Idaylng hostto Schwenksvdke we opened the 1945 footbah season Although It was typlcal baseball weather th1s was the tlme for football we proceeded to turn 1n a 25 12 vlctorv Upper MBFIOH was our next opponent Amld a sllght ra1n we handed her boys a defeat to the tune of 42 0 Capt Barclay and Hlgh stole away forlnanylong runs After wlnnlng two games at home we were ready to show our wares to the folks at Nether Prov1dence Yes we won 13 0 Returnmg home we played a powerful Marple Newton eleven and managed to send them home defeated 6 0 West Pottsgrove 7 0 and North Coventry 12 6 vsere our next v1ct1ms who proved somewhat stubborn to defeat Wlth SIX uctorxes under our belts vse were polntlng for two more After we had traveled to Boyertown for our seventh game the Bears really gave us a scare Tra1l1ng 13 7 at half tlme old S C H S came through the second half Wlth three touchdowns and a 25 13 vlctory Thls proved a costly vlctory as Captaln Barclay sustalned a broken ankle bone MCKISSIC Kurtas and a number of others were put on the mjured 11st for the last 1mportant game wlth R05 ersford when we rece1ved our f1rst setback of the Vear 18 0 Although the Junlor Varslty had been newlv organlzed thls year the members showed great ab1l1ty 1n the games they played Much 15 expected of them next year Ilavxng seven V1Ct0Y16S and only one defeat,scor1ng 131 poxnts to 49 for the opponents,wve ended a very successful season Biuch Credlt goes to head coach Rothermel and asslstant coach F1ler for thls splendld record.
