One might describe her as sparkling and vivacious. Moreover, she is a talented, capable teacher who has worked tirelessly and given cOuntl6SS hOUf5 of her own time and energy to all kinds of student activities. As she retires from her sponsorship of the Bruin, we pay tribute to this lively, stimulating spirit which has touched the lives of hundreds of young people. Mrs. Anthony will now devote all of her time to teaching in the science department. Our very best wishes go with her. s f is 'W 'ff' The sponsor has a last word, too. The above should have been censored to well wishes since the compliments are not very descriptive of the real person. However, I promised to leave it strictly alone. Credit for this Bruin and to others I've sponsored goes to the staff. They labored many hours and put up with my bad temper besides. Student and faculty cooperation made what we did possible. Personally, I've enjoyed working as sponsor and deserve no special thanks. Now, I also have a few Oscars to pass out: To the CREW pictured above for the long hot days and nights they worked after school, To Mama Bond who fed us and worked, toog To Editor Anne for keeping the staff working at all times in high gear and for her plans for the bookg To E. for doing everythingg To Lois, Anne Berkley, Dorothy, Mary Lou, Gwen, Terry and Carol, as well as Ed. Anne for selling ads as well as getting work done, To Sandra for extra work on sportsg To Rita and Marianne for sports attentiong To the many students who helped with snapshots, especially Richard Reeves, To Mike Krzesienski for his help, To jean Ford for her help with the May Feteg To Anne Wood for her help in editing, To Wallace johnson for his photographic help, and to husband for his an INDEX TO Angibs Beauty' Salon Arthur's G41r.1ggc Baird Luinlvcr Cik1lT1P.ll11i Bakcr's Pantry' Bilao's Dcpartincnt Store Biondo's Shoe Rcpairingg Brown Oil Tools Cxameron Iron XVorks Cwrtcm Humhlr Scrxitr Stxtinn CUL1 Coli Bottling, Coinpmx Comet Automotixc Supply Conn C ommunity flcintrs Curtiss C lndy Complm Darucnt s I ood Ctnttr DLL N Phirinuy Dcntlrr M111 Prorluttx I fIg,,ClS llovxcr incl C111 ox If Ly s Drug nn Cmnt Iredcritly Post Comprnx Gunn Rclltx Compinx Gcrlrnrl s Super Mlrltct H ,ind H Mum Coniplnx Heights Stltg Bmlx Housn ot lloxxrrs Hurst Supply Complny Keith Air Conditioning, K NUZ Kri Pu I ind S Gull Scrum Station I crlhrttcr s loocl M irkct long, Point Nltionll Brnlx Long, Point Pl1dfITldLX Lowry 5 Drixc Inn M B Lou Ilor15t and Gilt Slioy Mrlicnney luulnrs Midwsut Beal Compiny Millnrs Minimix NOl1l1Ll s Vxrirty Storr One Hour Mirtinizing, ONcal Andrrson P1l411s Roy 11 Pitsy Gliddcn Punt Ccntcr RK.1gL,iI1 Stltr Blnk Rad Pirrott Tango Scrum Stition Robinvsood Lodggc Sheldon 5 Branrh Driyc Inn and Grorcry Bowling, Alley Motom Phirmuy Plumbing, COINPIIIX Statc Bank Stauffcr Chcminal Company Syxiftvyay Teiglc Company Utopia C lermcrs Wfilbon Stationcry Wrights Kay Tec Wfylie W Vale Spring Branch Spring, Brannh Spring, Bfllllll Spring, Bmnth Spring, Branch I lorist ADVERTISERS Psfygt' 179 175 44 182 180 178 174 176 178 7 8 7 7 74 8 7 7 7 77 77 8 7 7 87 8 8 5 75 C 7 ,L 7 -1 '7 L -1 L 7 7 5 8 7 7 -1 -4 1 4 4 176 4 4- 4 4 E Y 7 4 1' 44 44 4 1 1 Q A 4, ' miny' 44 4 1 0 4 1 1' Q 4 1' 4 4 44 181 'A 7 it A 44 44 4 17h ' ,' 4 4 ' 4 4 1 1 A ' 4 in 1,-I D 4 ' 'S 4 11' I5 4' 1 ll li lt l .'
