Foolball This year 'rhe Bi-Counlry foofball league was splil' wiih fhe schools of grea+er affendance playing Jrogefher in one league and 'rhe schools wi+h smaller alrendance in anolher league. The winners of each lague were fo engage in a play off 'For +he coun+y championship. l Wi+h our enrollmenr 'rhis year dropping 'ro 38, we were auiomafically in 'rhe smaller school league and H' was obvious +ha'r Almira would be our loughesl' compelilion. The Vilcings, carrying on 'rheir winning sfreak of lasl year, won five slraighi games before losing a reiurn game +0 Almira by a score of 27 fo 20. ln +he play off game for +he, small school oham- pionship, ihey losl' +o Almira I2 'ro O al' Davenpori in a game which was scoreless un+iI 'rhe las+ five minules of play, The Bi-Coun+y championship was won by Lind, who defeaied Almira in lhe play off. The Vikings had weight depfh and experience This year wi+h a sfrong line and a 'iasl' baclcfield. The line averaged approximaiely l75 pounds while The baclacield averaged a lillle under I5O' pounds. The eniire ve-+eran line, however, will be in+ac+ and should be power- house in +he league. Keifh McDonald. Lloyd Bourne. Charles Miller, and Jerry Fox will provide plenly of opposilion for any feam.
