SE lg K S of 1944 - Verna Belser Slate 'Ln unselfish personality plus a jolly disposition Jack Wren 'String Beans 'L stickler for details 1:' Dorothy Lee 'Droth' 'Her policy-Forget about it' Vice-President President Sec and Treas CLASS .LISTCRY We, the class of 1944 of Spiro High School, began our Fxeslman year with the largest number of green freshmen ever to be enrolled durlng the history of our school Our very capable sporsor, Mr J J Bennett, guided us through our most difficult high school year Our Sophomore year progressed nicely nth Miss Lester Blaylock as our efficient sponsor Our superintendent, lr Jones, with the assistance of lies Henley lr Sharp, and lr Noblet gulded us through the realms of their respective subjects We began our Junior Year by electing lr Lucas as our sponsor and Iran he left us in mid term to preside in the House of Kepresentatlves we were very fortunate, indeed, to have with us for the rest of the year Hrs Chrestman We presented our play 'Dr labs on Lprxl 8 The Junior Senior banquet marked the climax of our third year 'he thme of this banquet was an old fashioned garden party We began our Senior year rith a class, the nmnber of wh1ch was a decided contrast to the one hundred and four members of our Freslunan class We were again honored by having as our sponsor, Mrs Chrestman Cne of our popular class members, J C Dunn, presided as King at our Halloween Carnival, having von the title during our Scrap Iron Drive We were happy to have an unusually large number of Senior repzesentatives in our Student Council Cur oommencsent speaker was Judge Dick Jones of Oklahoma City and the sermon ns delivered by Reverend A lax Holcomb of our city We nave enjoyed our years in high school irmensely and hope we may have success througnout our life's journey Peggy Perdue 'Perdy 'ledical Minded' Desdemonia Breedlove 'Little me Q y have you heard tr1s ?
