CLASS PIROPIHIECY THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1924. Last week a friend from the Orient sent me a mystic globe, and if you will fol- l0W me, l Shall Hive you the pictures it presented to me. First I saw Chester Noblet, a big, clean-hearted man, giving from the pulpit the gospel and 7710553868 Of love of our Saviour, and from the multitudes gathered in front of him we find him to be their shepherd. We follow him in his daily work and always find him ready to lend a helping hand. Schools and institutions receive his aid and, Why not? Just true characteristics of Chester. We have now in view a beautiful building, which by its stately halls and large. campus we find to be a school. Fifty white-middied and black-bloomered girls run forth from the building led by their instructor. Their rythmic exercises cast a favor- able impression upon us and we want fo see the instructor. We find her to be none other than our old class-mate-Reola Webb. She is, indeed, a noble woman leading others to a greater appreciation of life. The scene now shifts to the brilliant surroundings of the Orient where we See a man and woman buying silks and jewels at a street shop. 'I'hey start away and we recog- mze Veva Duncan but we find that she is no longer Miss Veva as she introduced, her husband, a Mr. Burke. A large hospital comes into view. A sick-room is portrayed. We see the doctor as he turns away for the last time but the nurse remains, a splendid example of cfoirr- aeeous devotion. We see her face-our chum Lucy Smith, who has been a nurse for -fveral years Jay Weatherford, now a promfnent man in the field of Journalism comes into view. He is now Editor of the Twentieth Century Magazine. Jay looks older but still, that hair! We shall always remember that. We then are shown a large theater, a garden scene, Japanese, a beautiful girl is playing a Japanese love-song while two Japanese maids fiit to and fro. We egiscern these to be Mary Ann Gordon and Lucille Bowman, noted dancers and the ac- companist is Lois Bownman, a celebrated pianist. We are changed to the crowded conditions of a city street. We follow a car :might down the street and on into the suburbs. We see it stop at a new bungalow. This we learn is the home of the man in the car, Finley Carlile and his wife, A-ilsn 4. . .umy:ff. Their two children run to meet him. Finley is an Architect in the city. The globe revolves and our friend Lewis Smith is seen smiling as usual. Af- ter taking several degrees at Harvard he is now practicing law with the largest law 'irm west of the Mississippi River. I-le is also active in politics being now a mem- r of the State Legislature and a Candidate for Congressman.
