W il --S 41 , ,hh Q--N- Sophomore Class History It was a peaceful day in early September, and the un- auspection Sophcmores were gathering at Ie Old School House' for another stimulating year of study. But all this peace could not continue, for out of no- where came a tremendous roar, a yellow streak and the S. L. Unildren trembled with fear. But there was no real cause for this. It was mb Athol, and Farragut coming to spend the school year with them. The terrified S.'L. kids barred the doors but to no avail. It was utterly impossible to keep out these Oat- siders who were so eager to learn! As the number of the Sophomore class grew from 8-28 we discovered that we were all about the same sort of kids, very unlike we expected. We also discovered the honor of being the largest class in school. Our happy little emigrants who voyaged so bravely, con- sisted of Carol Wallace, Joreen Humphrey, Georgie Johnson, Ted Waddell, Richard Landers, Dennis Alford, Gene Chnstead, Elmer Alford, Alta Von Wald, from Atholg Richard Compton, Allan Garrett, Philip Newton, Bob Parsell, Jim Turpin, Len- nie Newton, from Farragut and surrounding vicinity joined our Faithful Friends- like Alward, Bob Berry, John Davis, Cliff Golden, Brian O'llea.ra, Bill Shields , John Wilson, Inv rains Butterworth, Lailah Edgar, Doryne Epperly, Marilyn Peterson, and June Smith. As the tradition goes we initiated the Freshman class. lefve heard that they didn't enjoy it much but we certainly did. As the year progressed we had a party for the Frosh, won a 'Silver Loving tmp' for the bext skit at the hand party, and helped at the annual Carnival. As all stories must come to an end 'We Lived Happily Ever After I' BL..-v -:JL
