TRCPVY WINNING TEAM The Sperry Pirates started off the 1951-1952 basketball season with only four returning lettermen and a group of inexperienced sopho- mores. They won three of their first four games, however, before running into a tough losing streak. This was an average of over 2U points a game. The highest score of the season was the QB- to-lj victory over Coweta. This w a s closely followed by the L2 to O rout of O M A. On three other occasions over 30 points were scored. Union fell by the way jk to 7, Barnsdall tumbled jj to 7 and Bixby went down 32 to lb. The defensive team neld Sperry's op- position to 99 points. LASSIES WIN HQUPHY, TUU Coach Marvin Ross stands at the head of the high school basketball team which is composed of Lois Downs, Doris Linthicum, Charlene Cadenhead, Thelma Lu Pickens, Joye Woodall, Sara Doerr, Virginia Phillips Higdon, Nan Holcomb, Loretfa Dale, Marlene Wilson, Shirley Miller, Mona Summers, Myra Nell Perigo, Shirley Berryhill, Virginia James, and Patty Cates. SHS SHS The fair lassies of Sperry highlighted their SHS 1951-52 season by beating Skiatook and Jenks to SHS win first place in the Tulsa County Tournament SHS at Union. SHS In the Bixby Invitational Tournament, Sperry SHS edged out Union, 22 to 17, then was beaten by SHS Bixby, ll-O to lib. SHS With nine returning lettermen to bolster the SHS squad, the girls won their first three games in SHS a row before falling to a strong Bixby team. SHS SHS SHS UP !
