SENIOR PROPHECY This question has often been asked the Seniors on their Commencement Day: Where will you be and what'will you be ten years from today? We Juniors will climb aboard our flying saucer, set the controls for the year 1962, and answer for them. There is a big roar, and we're off. As we glide over the cities and towns, our magic saucer steers us toward Indianapolis, the home of America's greatest professional basketball team. Our attention is immediately drawn to one spectacular neon sign, announcing the final National Championship ball game and the name of the star player-- RAYMOND RUSH CARNAI-IAN, At this point our magic saucer lands in front of the box office of the gym. As we step up to buy our tickets, we see a familiar face behind the window. It's Eddie Hook! In answer to our startled looks, Ed says that he took this part-time job of selling tickets because his job of coaching a Junior High team didn't pay enough to feed and clothe his wife, the former Margery Holla- baugh, and their triplets. Midge has taken a job on the side of taking in washings also. One of her best customers is Gloria Steward, who has been writing the newspaper column, Advice to the Love Lorn. Besides the newspaper column to keep her busy, she has been seeing a lot of the famous muscle builder, Arles Catles, formerly known as Billy Wilder. He has developed his muscles until now he is known as Mr. Physique of 1962. While we are waiting for game time, let's go into this restaurant to get something to eat. Well, what do you know? There's Jim Knop, flipping hotcakes behind the counter. He's pretty good at it, too! As we sit down, Jim comes over to say hello to us. Well, Jim, so you've been visiting John Witt on his ranch in Colorado? Yeah, he says, as his bow-legs wobble back to the grill, but never again! We'll have to visit John when we continue our journey. It is now 11:30 p. m. and the Championship game is over. Big Ray racked up 56 points for his team tonight and won the game! Now 4 a. m. and back on board the flying saucer! Our course is due west from Indianapolis and we're headed for the open range. Oh, oh, what's that huge structure looming up in front? A new expansion bridge across the Mississippi River, and as the dawn breaks, we hear the foreman shouting instructions from a high ramp at the top of the bridge. It's none other than our old friend, Dale Butler. Dale sees us and waves, but he's too busy to stop and chat. He's going full speed, as usual. At twilight we enter Denver just in time to get into a big, new super market to buy some groceries for our evening meal. There, in all her glory, is the manager of the store, Bonnie Furnish. Right next door to Bonnie's supermarket we see a Joke and Novelty Shop. This should be interesting, let's go in. Oooops! As we open the door a sheet falls over our heads and we hear the hearty laughter of the proprietor, Jerry Baker. Well, we might have known that Jerry would be in this sort of business. Never a dull moment with Jerry around! We stop at the first motel we see and who should be the owner but Peggy Romine. It's such a cozy place, too, so we'll stay for the night. It's morning!
