Marce . . . As the school year of 1942 came around, some fifty boys and girls enrolled as sophomores in the Spencerville High School. On October 22, We enjoyed the Freshman-Sophomore Wiener' Roast. During the year the Sophomore Class presented two assemblies in which the whole class participated. Many of the students were taking interest in sports activities, our class was well represented in baseball, bask mixed chorus, and orchestra. and musical etball, band, President ....... . . . At the opening of school on September 8, forty-seven Juniors were enrolled. Out of that number forty-two were left to finish the year. Many things were changed, but we were determined to do the best we could with what we had. The Annual Junior-Senior Wiener roast, the first event of the season, was held on September 25. The Junior Class Play on November 20 appeared next on the program of activities. To help win victory we sacrificed our yearly trip for a scrap drive which yielded several tons. To stimulate interest in the salvage collection a fifteen minute program was sponsored over W L O K, Lima, Ohio, on November 23. The Junior- Senior rabbit supper was an event of the same date. The last and mosli important event was the Junior-Senior reception. With our Junior year behind us we have learned many things that will aid us in becoming successful seniors for next year. Then George Treadway, .Juanita Perez, Gaylord Cotternian, Paul Birt and Bob Ayres were withdrawn, leaving us with 77 pupils.
