D. McIntyre Music hath charms to soothe the savage beast . This quotation does not imply the idea that there have been savage beasts to charm in our high school, yet if the occasion had ever demanded it, there is no doubt but that we would have been able to soothe them. The high class of music of the orchestra has been brought about under the capable direction of Mr. McIntyre, who has patiently worked with us. The orchestra, composed of 36 members, has met twice each week throughout the year. The audiences have been very well pleased with the beautiful selections played by the orchestra at various high school entrtainmnts. On Friday, March 27, the orchestra took part in the Allen County Music Festival at the Memorial Hall in Lima, and on Monday, April 6, attended the Northwestern Music Festival at North Baltimore where they received the rating of excellent. Several members also took part in the State Musical at Ada on April 17. Ten members of the orchestra are to be promoted to the higher rank of gradu- ate professionals, leaving their coveted positions as an incentive for the orcehstra of '36 and '37. H. M. G. '36

GIRLS' GLEE CLUB President ------ Hazel Goodwin Secretary-Treasurer - Lela Ruth Bowen Business Manager - Evelyn Leffel lAnnabelle Morris Librarians - 4Juliana Miller lEvelyn Failor Pianist - Jean Neidhardt Director C. D. McIntyre The Girls' Glee Club, consisting of fifty-two members, has made a good showing in whatever it has attempted during the year. Much training and pleasure has been obtained in our working together under the leadership cf Mr. McIntyre. On December 133, the club took an active pait in a musical program given by all the musical organizations of the school. By the boys and girls working diligently together, they presented one of the greatest events of the year, the Operetta, The Count and the Coed , which proved a great success. The Glee Club took part in the Musical Festival held at the Memorial Hall in Lima on March 27. Also on April 18, the club took part in the Graded Festival at Bluffton and received the rating of excellent. The Girls' Sextet, composed of Hazel Goodwin. Frances Burnett, Mabel Stelzer, Emaline Haller, Lela Bowen, and Ruth Hays, took part in the state musical, held in Ada on April 17, Other members also took part in the musical. We sincerely hope that the glee clubs in the future will reach heights that we were unable to attain. L. R. B. 'Ju Front Row: M. Hindenlang, M. Grassley, M. Metzger, R. Hays, H. Goodwin, M.
