NELSON C WOOD Mr Wood was born 1n Lyndonvllle Velmont He began h1S educatlon 1n Lyndon In stltute graduatlng 1n 1924 He recelved h1s B S degree at the University of Vermont and then attended Cornell Lnlversltv vshere he obtalned h1s master s degree He was admltted as candldate for hlS Ph D degree at Cornell ln 1942 Addltlonal graduate work was also done at Un1ve1s1ty of Colol ado at Boulder Colorado 1n 1941 He began h1s career at Webster Hlgh School teach1ng science and coachmg athletlcs and became Pr1nc1pal of F1llmore Hlgh School 1n 1933 Slnce 1936 Mr Wood has done splendxd work as Prlnclpal of Spencerpolt Hlgh School SIHCQ he began hls dutles there have been many lmprovements 1n the school system Lnder h1m the Klndergarten Industrlal Arts Department the AgPlCUltul3l Depart ment and our bus system have been mtloduced Also vlsual lnstructlon has been 1m proved through the use of a sound movle projector the Commerclal Department Health and Physlcal Educatlon Depaltment has been expanded Mr Wood maln tamed the ldea that the students should have a sense of responslblllty Wlth th1s ln mlnd he organlzed the student councll and estabhshed the hall monltors a safety patrol and the teacher s a1ds M1 Wood has won the frlendshlp of many students ln school Hls klndness to a1d anyone facmg dlfliculty has lnduced all of us to hold hlm ln hlgh esteem Nelson C Wood 5 I ' 7 ' o - Y . . 1 . . , v . . . . . . .
