To give a student a better understanding of his eventual occupation. HBH. To unite business-minded people who are interested in sales and marketing as a career. CCD. To give members a chance to examine the current marketing, sales, and advertising fields. QDJ To promote interest in Sales and Marketing at Spencerian College. We attempt to accomplish these goals by inviting guest speakers from the Mil- waukee area who discuss marketing activities through many perspectives. Our club feels fortunate to have Mr. Frank Beezley and Mr. Ward Rosenberg as our club sponsors. Both men have devoted much of their time to develop and pro- mote the club. Newman lub ln the Newman Association, the Catholic student learns to realize more fully the importance of his role in the school, the community, and the world. Father Verhalen, pastor at a parish in Franklin Wisconsin, is our chaplain. He had previously been a chaplain to several young adult organizations, and his experience is a tremendous asset to our association. Mr. Thorne, professor of investments and' finance, is our school advisor. His active participation in the Newman Association has been greatly appreciated. Spencerian Newman meetings are held twice a month. One meeting is scheduled for business and the other is a program meeting. Activities include: Pilgrimages, Communion Sundays, Blood Bank Drives, Lenten Marriage Course, paper drives, car washes, and discussions to help Newman members better know their faith and themselves.

Approvals . . . approvals Maybe it was worth The Speneerian I11t61'C0lTl . voice of the student body With apologies to some great newspaper fgolly, you know I can,t recall its namel for taking liberties with their slogan- All the news thatis fit to printf' the Spencerian Intercom banner for the 1969-70 college year might we-ll have been the same, except for one slight addition-H. . . and some that wasn't. Well, really, it wasnat all that bad'. In fact, for the first time in the recollection of graduating seniors, the school newspaper ap- peared regularly each month from October through May or at least we're hoping. What's more, there was an occasional pat on the back to help offset the more usual boot on the backside. A special effort was made throughout the year to accomplish three major goals-one, to offer students a greater variety of reading content, two, to involve more guys and dolls as contributors, and three, to give more emphasis to interesting business ventures carried on by the students themselves. While we feel a good start has been made on all three fronts, there's still room for future newsmen and women to make the Intercom a really great college paper. Weill be watching. Before writing c'30'7 to this report,,the accomplishments of three dedicated staffers must be acknowledged. They are: Tom Hagner, Andy LoDuca and Mark Ellis who for three years before their February graduation bore the brunt of keeping the Intercom alive and kicking. On top of that, those cowards ran out without getting their picture taken for the Executive. Come to think of it, they were SHPPOSH1 to Prepare this iW0-page spread, too.
