William H. Spencer High School celebrated it’s Homecoming week October 19, through October 23, 1987. Homecoming week is the time when everyone has a little fun, and shows their spirit towards their school. 1 guess we can say that some of us have alot of school spirit because several students participated in the activities scheduled for that week. There were several events occurring for that special week. Tuesday of Homecoming week was “Girls’ Hush Day.” This was the day that girls were not allowed to talk to the boys. This was not very easy for some girls. Norman Holloway was the winner of “Girl Hush Day.” He collected 23 pins. He was also presented with a free game pass. Congratulations, Norman! Wednesday was Twin Day. Several students were participating in this event. There were even some who looked exactly alike. Thursday was “Fifties Day.” People really did go out of their way for this day. Overall, everyone looked great. The most outstanding students in this event were Herman Johnson and O’neal Little. Friday was a combination of “Funeral and Green Gold.” The funeral itself wasn’t all that it should have been, but the people in it did a wonderful job. “Green Gold Day” turned out to be very successful. Actually the whole week of Homecoming was wonderful. Homecoming Week was Great! 6
