THE PRINCIPAL E. T. Lindsey Transition is the key word that describes Spencer High School during the 19 1-72 school year as the racial composition of staff and students changed tremendously. Thus the class of 1972 will be recorded in the annuals of Spencer as the first in- tegrated graduation class. Our student body during this transitional year appears to have the attributes of enthusiasm, of vitality and of stamina that characterize youth. It is wonderful because you will need these things. You will need them as you learn; as you prepare to lead our nation in the years to come. The problems and challenges of tomorrow can only be met by the young people of today who are endowed with the wonder- ful attributes of youth. The senior class of 1972 is well qualified to meet these opportunities and responsibilities.
