SOCIAL SCIENCES INTEGRATE MAN INTO SOCIETY. In our advanced society, the high school student must acquire a knowledge of human social institutions. He must become a part of his environment presently, must realize that he is the result of his past, and must envision the future-for in each phase of his life he must deal with the social sciences. Responsive to the Twentieth century teens, the Social Science Department enlivened study of both recorded and current events. Preceding the fall elections, the government classes led a discussion of the American Voting System. Miss Coleman's American History classes were augmented by classroom Wsing alongsl, and udancesn that have historical significance. Students in Mr. Odis Spencefs classes made the past more vivid by presenting historical skits. A new course in geography was added to give the students an understanding of the world that they live in, enriched by the many '6Army Bratsv who had traveled abroad. Mr. O.
