Imagery etched in the window-pane, thoughts delving into the Past or reaching out toward the Future - these are the images, the,Spencerians' images based on the individual, his ability to learn, to think, to ponder, to explore and on his ability to be an individual. Spencerians see themselves as they walk through the halls, study, converse with their friends, play, and participate in classes. More important than physical images, the Spencerian is given the opportunity to see himself as he matures mentally - sees himself in the mirror of his mind. After viewing his image, the Spencerian takes stock of his personality, motives, and am- bitions - all molded by the past. Only then does he realize what he must do for the Future. The 1969 Spencerian does not live in a vacuum, for today is partially reflected in his Past. He must realize that the Past is marked by a multitude of issues vying for his thoughts and in- terests which bring him to the Present. Ranging from the Viet Nam Crisis to Mini-Skirts and the Natural Look, these concerns make the 1969 Spencerian different from those preceding or following him. And in response to present as well as anticipated needs, he must look to the Future. Thus, it is with a Spencerians, reflections, whether they be of dim memories of the Past, day- dreams in the Present, or beckoning hopes for the Future. Give him an idea of where he is going in this demanding world. For he has his Present image to change when the Future makes it necessary, and his Past imagery to give him the knowledge, ambition, and courage. ADS . . .... ............ 1 80-195

DEDICATION To Assistant Principal W. W. Gentry, the Class of 1969 sincerely dedicates its great Annual for his many qualities that have endeared him to every one. First of all, he exhibits a great admiration for all the younger generations and seeks to understand and sympathize with their problems and interests. As an administrator, he has a good sense of humor as he deals either considerately or harshly with the erring student. Therefore, our Class is happy to dedicate this grand volume to a most deserving friend of every Spencerian, Mr. Wadsworth W. Gentry.
