On May 30 another group of Spencer students will assemble to receive their diplomas in a cere- mony which someone has appropriately titled Com- mencement . For some of these graduates, the road to completion has been long and difficult. For others, it has been four continuous happy and en- lightening years, filled with experiences and learn- ing that will assure a future of service to their com- munity and their nation. Still others have been here at Spencer for only two or three years—yet all have found their training valuable and beyond reproach. High school years do not need lengthy ex- planations for those who have experienced them. There are perhaps variations to some degree of activities and schedules between various schools but basically, the general functions and results are the same. And alike in all cases, these graduates will go forth into various fields to experience the great self-satisfaction that comes with accomplish- ment and worthiness. To the graduates of the class of 1958, as to the graduates of the past, go the sincere best wishes of the faculty and the student body, hoping that this group will reflect and cherish their education and their years here at Spencer Senior High School.
