J'ffmv uL Spencer, as one of those American institutions that are preparing the youth of today for citizenship, has made its final educational contribution to the graduating class of 1955. She has stood as a beacon, pointing the way toward those things which are wholesome and worthwhile. Since the symphony orchestra is one of the prime tokens of American cul- ture, we believe it to be idealistic in representing the better life. Because of the similarity of purpose, preparation and variation of the orchestra to the excellent training received at Spencer Senior High, we choose as the theme of our year- book. SYMPHONIC MEDLEY OF THE CLASS OF ’55. The class publishes this annual as a memorandum of four years of happenings which took place in Spencer High School. The story of our high school period is not complete because we can not print the spirit that lives within our heart. We can only give you glimpses of this great passing panorama which should serve to call back, in later years, the glorious time spent here. As we make our departure, we wish to thank our Principal, sponsors, and teachers for their conscientious efforts in helping to shape our destinies. Our lives have been enhanced by their endeavors. As we leave these hallowed walls, may our lives be a credit to our families, churches, school, country and. above all. may they he a credit to our God. (4)

9rL J hcditudsL We, the members of the Class of 1955. are indeed indebted to Miss Ethel Spencer and Mr. B. I . Lawton, two of the oldest teachers, in terms of actual service, in Muscogee County. For many years, these instructors have given untiring service toward the educational and the moral development of the youths of this community. Ihrough the years they have always found time to help students who needed special assistance with their problems. We affectionately recall their admirable patience and steadfast enthusiasm in regards to the growth of this class. In gratitude for their many years of sacrificial service, we proudly dedicate this edition of the Spencerian. 16)
