We're on the way FORWARD Another year of school life filled with joy and happiness tempered with, perhaps, a little worry and sorrow has passed. Another year in which all young people have prepared and gir- ded themselves with knowledge for the better meeting of the tlying days facing them ahead. The future will demand staunch hearts and strong minds of its youth, and we are answering that call with the full, un- Stlnting sacrifice of our young men and women doing their utmost to attain the ultimate goal, peace for all. We are not afraid to look into our future where we see bright paths of happiness and success stretching out before our eager, seeking minds and hearts. May we fulfill our pledge to the world and to our country, and may our failh triumph over our fears. ,ease-

Farewell, Mr. Test! Mr. Test at one of his usual tasks Yes, farewell to our principal, Mr. Lowell B. Test. He has served on the Spencer faculty for eleven and one-half years. He has attended Iowa University and Morningside, came here from Sanbom. Established the student council conference in the Lakes Conference, which is an annual affair held in Spencer, and also instigated the vocational conferences held locally the last few years. He served as secretary for the Lakes Conference Schools for several years. He always enjoyed beating certain students and teachers to the building in the mornings. He par- ticularly enjoyed holding tournaments, contests, and conferences. Also liked fishing and pheasant hunting. He resigned his position here and is now serving as Deputy Collector for the Internal Revenue Sewice of the Treasury Department, stationed in Fort Dodge. Mr. Test was a real guy when it came to winning the admiration of the student body and it's certain that no one of us will forget him. Hello, Mr. Jackson! Mr. T. Eldon Jackson We extend our most cordial welcome to Mr. T. Eldon Jackson, our new principal of Spencer High. Although he joined our faculty only at mid-term, he is already the pal and adviser of every szudem. Mr. Jackson attended some of the better schools. among them Drake University, Denver University. and the Universities of Chicago and Colorado. The popular theory that all principals are stiff necked and cross has been completely shattered by Mr. Jackson's example. All doubts are dispelled at the first glance of that flashing smile and at the sound of his hearty laugh. His likes and dislikes are the same as the students he teaches. For band leaders, he favors Kay Kyser and Henry Busse. ln the movie line, Mr. jackson prefers Pop-eye and Bette Davis. One point that has hastened his popularity is Mr. jackson's many diversified interests and talents. Dancing, music, a jolly good humor, and fairness in all dealings have assured him an honored spot in our school. verse--
