Qlalenhar '30 : '31 10-N early everyone went to Charleston today-at least a few are in school. I guess the representation didn't do much good. We were defeated 44-0. We certainly were proud of our band for they showed up in grand color. 13-From outside reports the leaves have been turning this week-end. The reason for this, I guess, is the beginning of the six weeks exams. 16-Student Council certainly is a great help. Before long we're going to have chairs to sit on and parking places for our gum. 21-Everyone is looking forward to receiving his first six weeks grades. We wonder which class is the most intelligent. 22-Sophomores gave chapel program today. It certainly is nice to see ourselves as others see us. 23-Things must be getting pretty bad, especially in Mr. Snead's room. Pearl Cariens has to stand in the co1'ner. I bet it felt like ye good olde days. 24- Happy Criner was elected Master of Ceremonies for the lunch hour. I heard this was because he is such a good hand at slinging the dish-rag. 25-Seniors held a party in the gym last night and it was a howling success. 29-Freshies gave their first chapel program today. It appeared that they were slightly bashful for they gave a pantomime. 30-Juniors gave a Hallowe'en party. It certainly was a spooky affair. Nov. 3-Every one came to school today, only looking forward to to- morrow. There is no school tomorrow, due to the election. Nov. 5-Chapel today. We had with us Mr. Duncan who gave us a very interesting talk. Nov. 6-Representatives were sent to the State Cho1'us and Band Meet in Charleston this week. Nov. 7-Many went to Clendenin today to see our boys play football. Nov. 10-Our school certainly is p1'oud of those who were in Charleston. They gave a most favorable report of the hospitality of the Charleston people. Nov. 12-We are here but not for long, teachers are leaving this evening to attend S. E. A. The students certainly do hate to see them go but they'll probably get over it-suppose so? Nov. 17-Teachers back ! Nov. 18-The birdman was here today and had a movie in the audi- torium. I think the majority of the student body attended. Nov. 19- Kat and Dog Clubs, in other words the girls' and boys' Social Etiquette Clubs, gave a chapel program today. Page one hundred thirteen

Nov. 21-We had a lovely time today. All of us got our beauty snapped. Nov. Dec. Dec. Dec. Dec. Dec. Dec. Dec. Jan. Jan. Jan. Jan. Jan. Jan. Jan. Feb. Feb. Feb. Feb. We hope the pictures will be fine. 24,-Football season ends today. Too bad! 1-Every one looks as if they might have had plenty to eat over Thanksgiving holidays. I guess some got a little too much from the looks of the absence list. 3-Well, we got our report cards today. The Freshies had the high grade student. Ain't they smart '? 8-The Senior Carnival went over big. Now say we aren't original! 10-Had a debate in Chapel today and we certainly were surprised. Didn't know we had such orators. 16- The Laughing Guest arrived, and it surely was a wallopin, good one. 19-We had a big time today. Santa Claus left us all some presents and also a vacation. Both were received whole-heartedly. 29-All back today, sporting their presents. At least, all they could get on. 1-Happy New Year! Everyone looks as if they certainly had made a night of it. 2-Basketball season opened tonight. The girls and boys both were victo1'ious. Now say we aren't starting the New Year out right. 5-Edna Tanner has been elected the Captain of the girls' basketball team. Lookout, you're going to see some action. 8-We voted on the name for our team today. The winning name was Blue Devils. 15-Bliss Boggs got violent after taking his semester exams and Happy had to lock him up. Poor Bliss- Happy almost forgot to let him out. 19-Students were very noisy today. That just goes to show what semester tests will do. 26-Well, we heard Africa Speak today but our conclusion was that it yelled! 2-The Ground Hog saw his shadow today so I guess we're in for some more bad weather. 5-Been having lots of meetings today about the name for our teams. Won't be long now until we'll know something definite. 7-Won two victories tonight. They were both ha1'd games and certainly did keep everyone up on his toes. 11-Seniors gave the Chapel program today. It was a one-act play entitled The Mysterious Valentine. Page one hundred fifteen
