At the beginning of the year, the girls elected Edna Tanner as their captain. She proved herself to be a very inspiring leader. Out of the eighteen games played the Spencer Cliff Dwellers won nine. We believe the girls have become better sports by having lost part of their games. Pritchard, Burdette, Wines, Davis and Fetty will be lost through graduation this spring but we feel sure that enough material is left for another g1'and and glorious season next year. Miss Dorothy Davis has been an inspiration to the girls. She has undoubtedly proven herself a competent coach. The girls learned to love her and she in turn loved them. Page one hunchecl mne I

Sept. 8-School opened again. Freshmen look like a handsome bunch, even though we only saw their hands. They number only 132. The faculty looks fine, too, even Mr. Karickhoff's moustache. Sept. 9-Today's as confused as yesterday. Poor Freshies certainly are having a time. Sept. 10-We got settled today and Miss Lawson told us about her trip to Europe. I believe most of' us were with her smelling fish in Holland and swimming in Venice. Sept. 12-We have a very good faculty this year and I believe a very musical one. We were entertained this afternoon by four members of the faculty who sang a few old selections. Sept. 18-We had an enthusiastic pep meeting today celebrating the oncoming football game tomorrow between Spencer and East Bank. Let's go, Cliff Dwellers! Sept. 19-We lost the game 19-0 but just the same our boys played a good, clean game. They exhibited good sportsmanship. Sept. 22-The classes met for the first time and were organized. Now begins ye olde competition. Sept. 24-Today was our first chapel program when we had with us Rev. L. H. Roseman of the Baptist Church who gave a very interesting talk. Sept. 26-Another game today, Spencer High vs. Poca. The score was 0-0. Well, anyway, they didn't beat us. Sept. 29-Certainly is coldg seems almost like winter today. Nearly Oct Oct Oct Oct Oct Oct everyone wore her hose and coat. 1-Seniors gave their first chapel program. It had been rumored that the Seniors didn't have much pep, but from their actions on the stage today, I believe they have quite enough. 2-Had a 'Thuse Meeting tonight for the big game tomorrow. It was sponsored by the Freshmen Class and say, have they got pep? y Como ! 3-Seems as if all Grantsville came over today to see Spencer get beat. But if they did, they were disappointed for our boys played hard and the score was 6-6. 6-Student Council had their first meeting and elected ofiicers. Now, watch for results. 7-Students are being well entertained and will be for the next three days. A cooking school is being held in the auditorium. We enjoy their radio, but we don't enjoy the odors. We'd so much rather do the tasting than the smelling. 8-Been lea1'ning some new yells to give when we go to Charleston Friday. Don't know how we'll come out but we're all hoping for the best. Page one lzundred eleven
