This year the boys won 10 out of 16 games which is a great improvement over last year's record and one can easily see that this season was a successful one taking into consideration the very hard schedule. The team showed at all times good sportsmanship and a fighting spirit which made both the student body and the fans back the team 100 per cent. Spencer High School does not always have a winning team but her sportsmanship is always of the best and we hope it will continue through- out the coming years. Most likely Spencer will have as good a team next year, if not better, due to the fact that only one of the eight men taken to the sectional tour- nament graduates and there are several boys capable of filling the vacancy left by Curly Lawrence, regular forward who fought hard in all the games. Next year's squad will have the following material: Rufus Webb and Harold Cottle, an excellent pair of guards, and Hillis Cottle, forward, who was a high point man this year. Other good material will be: Brice Ham- mack, Blake Hammack, Carl Cooper, Bob Maher and others. Page one hzmdrcd .szven

At the beginning of the year, the girls elected Edna Tanner as their captain. She proved herself to be a very inspiring leader. Out of the eighteen games played the Spencer Cliff Dwellers won nine. We believe the girls have become better sports by having lost part of their games. Pritchard, Burdette, Wines, Davis and Fetty will be lost through graduation this spring but we feel sure that enough material is left for another g1'and and glorious season next year. Miss Dorothy Davis has been an inspiration to the girls. She has undoubtedly proven herself a competent coach. The girls learned to love her and she in turn loved them. Page one hunchecl mne I
