Gpmcm Gmddeni Fmlc Tied SPENCER The Spencer Varsity football team finished 5-2 overall for conference action under tri-captains Jeff Yetter, Mike Lipsey, and Kim Crist. Coach Tom Spanel said, “In the 1987 season only 3 losses were to playoff teams. All the players worked extremely hard in order to improve the football program. We feel the program is headed in the right direction, after the 1987 season and are looking forward to the upcoming years. The seniors should be especially congratulated for improving from 0-9 as sophomores to 3rd place as seniors. Senior Jeff Yetter made the accomplishment of being an all state linebacker. Season awards went to Shane Boe, Best Blocker; Mike Lipsey, Offensive MVP; Pat Kilty, Best Tackier; and Jeff Yetter, Defensive MVP. 18
