The boys worked hard to earn the offensive crown In the Marawood Con- ference. Scott Johnson led the squad and conference in yards rush- ing with 1178 yards. Without the work of the whole team, Scott wouldn't have had the opportunity to earn the rushing title. Five players achieved their goals of being named to the Marawood All-Conference team; Scott Johnson, Roger An- derson, Jon Steffenhagen, and Steve Anderson on offense and Wade Vaughan and Rog- er Anderson on defense. 1.  I’m happy with the 8-1 record, since my Freshmen year our record was 1-6. It just shows what a little work and determination can do. (Mark Stelzl) 1. SQUAD REBUILDS IN miD-SEASON Shortly after the basketball season got underway the team suffered a major set- back. Several team members were sus- pended for a violation of the Athletic Code. This meant regrouping the squad and moving several JV players to the Var- sity squad. At times there were as many as five Freshmen seeing action during the Varsity game. The tough Marawood Conference proved to be all the new team could han- dle. They ended the season with a 3-15 conference record. The JV’s finished the same. When tournament time came, the girls traveled to Greenwood and lost their opener In a close game. Final stats for the season showed Tracey Karau with the most points and assists, 154 and 32 respectively. Marcia Christiansen brought down the most rebounds, 131.
