But We Can Adjust Our Sails. The time has finally come for the Class of 79 to gradu- ate. The date chosen for commencement was May 18. Sixty-three students marched down the aisle of the R. J. Tack Auditorium to receive their diplomas. The girls chose to wear light blue robes and the guys dark blue. After each graduate received a white rose tipped blue, they left the auditorium to start a new life of their own. 27

Good-bye May 4 was the last time the entire Class of ’79 got together before their graduation. Tire big occasion was their Senior Banquet held at the Village Pla- za. The guest speaker for the evening was Dan Schwantes, a former teacher and class advisor. Providing entertain- ment were Charles Brauer and his dog, Ranger. Jon Burnett was the master of ceremonies and passed out various awards to the well-deserving Seniors. It was a very successful banquet, and a truly memorable way to say good-bye to classmates. 1.
