The team, consisting mostly of underclassmen, showed a lot of enthusiasm but was lacking in experience. After their poor showing this year, the boys should now have the experience necessary for a successful season next year. Ammons receives the baton from Sandley. J Barb Krohn shows the care that is taken to enhance a character. -J Bill Ausbourne contemplates his part as Sheri Felten contemplates hers. Jean Schwebke adds to Danny Harrell's distinguished features. Don’t Drink the Water Vicki Huber is the proud recipient of the Ray Harrell Memorial Award presented at the Drama Club Banquet held in the spring. I had a ball. I'd rather do comedy than anything, stated Mrs. Rannow. Her enthusiasm it seemed was conta- gious. On opening night, April 7th, the Drama Club pre- sented Woody Allen’s Don't Drink the Water to a packed house. The two-act comedy continued to draw good crowds the next two nights. This zany play takes place in an American embassy behind the Iron Curtain. Walter Hollander, a New Jersey caterer, his wife and daughter rush to the safety of the em- bassy followed closely by Krojak and the police, who accuse them of spying. But the embassy is not quite the haven they expect. The Ambassador is away and his trouble-prone son, Axel Magee, has been left in charge. Now the problem is to get the Hollanders home. A spy exchange, arranged by the efficient assistance of Kilroy, falls through when the other man commits suicide. This leads to a rather compli- cated plot with help from Father Drobney (a priest who has been trapped in the embassy for 6 years) where the Hol- landers pretend to be guests at an embassy party who casually leave the country. Everything is going well— until Hollander shoots the returning Ambassador in the leg. Finally, appreciating the clothes of a drunken sultan and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Hollander escape. Their daughter, Susan, acquires diplomatic immunity by marrying Axel. 19
