Dave Mueller solos a selection. A Time For Us Couples, lighted pillars and a cherub fountain. Crowning the queen of 1970. Scott and Jean make their appearance on the dance floor. God save the King. Barb save the crown! April 25, 1970 was the date of this year’s Junior Prom. Reigning over the prom were Dennis Wahlers and Barb Neidlein. The gym was decorated in a Renaissance motif. On the blue and silver walls hung murals portraying scenes in the movie. “Romeo and Juliet”, from which the theme, A TIME FOR US, was taken. In the center, surrounded by six pillars, was a fountain of sandstone blocks. An orches- trated rock-blues band, the “Universal Blues , played the theme song from the same movie for the grand march, which was choreographed by Linda Gauger. On the tables were long stemmed red roses as table favors. The king was chosen in a different manner than in pre- vious years. Instead of automatically being the king because he was the class president, this year’s king was elected by popular vote. 9
