Rockets attempt to carry out Homecoming pledge. Spirit, if not togetherness. Next, the Rockets took on the fierce Pittsville team and played a challenging game, but lost by a score of 28-16. The Spencer High Rocket Band provided half time entertain- ment at the game. The ’69 Homecoming Dance featured music by the rock group, the “Estate General”. This year’s royal couple, Mike Cook and Kay Ziegahn, were crowned by the ’68 royalty, Ted Metcalfe and Judy Dunbar, during the coronation cere- monies at 10:00 p.m. Homecoming Dance climaxes week’s activities. 7

Freshmen: Chuck Hopfensperger and Debbie Brown Junior Court Representatives: Larry Driekosen and Sherry Carlson. Freshman entry, “Execute ’Em” takes first place. The week of October 6 through October 11 was marked by the 1969 Homecoming Activities. While float building proceeded, plans were being made for Saturday’s events. The cheerleaders added new innovations to the Friday night bon-fire by including two skits in the program. Then the football players led a torch light parade to the bon-fire. The annual parade started at 12:30 on Saturday after- noon, in which the Freshmen captured first pri2e in float competition. 6
