Text from Pages 1 - 72 of the 1959 volume:

Forewor The “foreword” to a high school annual must necessarily be a backward look. The only backward look worth commemorating is one of pleasant reminiscence. From the administration to the advertise- ments each perusing student should find a re- flection of his years at school clearly defined in word and pictures. We hope to bring to each just what he is looking for; just the part of the past years that mean most to him. Our annual interprets school life. May it convey the philosophy of the school as it really is; with studying, sports, music, and other extra-curricular activities, each in its proper proportion. Dedication To Doc” In recognition of Doctor H. T. Callahan's thirty-six years of service to this community, we dedicate this 1959 Rocket annual. We, the Class of '59, salute you! The play was a success, due to the fine directing on the part of Mrs. Zogg. Rollis Weister and Ivy Dunbar reigned as king and queen of the May 16, 1959 Junior Prom. Members of the court were David Schwantes, Roger Bymers, Marjorie Oestreich, and Kathleen Engel. Music was provided by the Howie Sturtz Orchestra. Stardust was the theme, and the hall was beautifully decorated in multiple shades of blue. Silver stars were mounted at each end of the hall and tiny colorful stars hung from the midnight-blue ceiling. Dust KING ROLLIS QUEEN IVY ROW ONE: D. Hopfensperger, B. Rolling, C. Carpenter, S.
