STUDENT GOVERNMENT Iruidrnt ELWABHH ELLIOT Serrclary BARBARA SVIITH Until this xear the Council has consisted of fifteen girls the President of tht Council the Presidents Xice Presidents and rotating representatlxes from the four Upper Classes the hmd of the Boarding Department nd the Secretary This year me have made rht head of the Athletic Asso iam n a permanent member, while the heads of the Glee Club Drama Club and So ial Service each come once everv three weeks come up during the previous week We have tried this year to make the members of the school realize their responsibility in making student government a success XVe have done this bx hating eccasi nal meetings with the entire four Upper Classes, and Dy reading the minutes rf Nlonday s meeting in Assembly on Thursday The Lower and Middle Schools are DOI actually a part of student government Howexer, tht, hate their ovsn officers who are responsible for keeping the class lockers neat for keeping order on the stairs and for seeing that the class behave when the teacher is not in the room This responsibihtx in the lower grades better prepares these girls to be leaders by the time they become Freshmen E78 3 'I - ' . , , . ..
