It has been stated that Freshmen enter unaware ofthe cultural enrichment that one would gain by the end of their cottage career. one that would remain within as they enter society. Many artists have entered the gates as speakers or visiting professors. Taiented orchestra singers from the music department, magnificent actresses from the drama department. renowned artist from the art department, and outspoken writers from at! departments have been recognized at Spetnttm on sevemf occasions for their achievements. On campus. the students ha Vt? also participated in outstanding plays, productions. and platforms such as ttRafsin tn the Sun, hthtys and Dottsf' ttCetebration t'n Biack, and t'Kt'ng. The jazz band, under the direction of Joseph Jennings, has also won r3 ve reviews. not only at Spelman but in the Atlanta community. Respectfufty.
