Introduction What is important is not atways visible to the eye; what is essential is the feeling we have in our heart; as to what wejd tihe the wortd to see of our Spelman women. So take a look around your shoulder and you wilt see-we are beautifut; we are young; we are gifted; we are black. We wish to relate to you the emotions of our deep rooted pride, not onty .in a pic- tmesque language - for photographs are just memories- but through our expres- sions. Her hands - how handsome yet how steady, pa- tient and talented. Now gaze upon her black face. The eotoring book of its fentmes are blended to create a beauty more than on the surface. Can you see it? The sun burns deepty in the eyes of our young, gifted, and btaeh women who see not onty the present but the unmuhng fut1.cre. Times we have but time it wilt take to bring about Change to Teach perfection in the things that are of utttmnte importance to us r13 bhtch women.
