'CHEAV N EARTH OPENS SOCIAL EVENTS Judy Kirchhoff, Dixie White, and Pat Schwim- er, a trio of talented junior girls, entertained during the intermissions. 1 Standing at the entrance to Heaven on Earth are Miss Rust and Mr. Foland, junior sponsors, Donna Wright, Judy Kendall, Mary Margaret , Johnson. and Jane Hardin were all escorted to the i dance by Speedway alumni, Jim McAllister, Bob Ternplin. Dick Emigholz, and Tom Emmich. John Lennie and Pat Schwimer, Frank Frosch and Sandy Huffman, Melinda McArthur and her date. Taking time out for refreshments are John Carmich- ael and Charlene Eversole. Hostesses are juniors Jean Ann Thompson and Alice McCracken. -12- Couples whirled to the rhythmic sounds of The Colonels.

Ll l a. One of the biggest projects of F. H. A. this year was starting the Jr. F. H. A. for 7th and Sth grade students. Shown above the F. H. A. officers are installing the Jr. F. H. A. officers at a candle light ceremony. Football Farewell--That is, farewell to the seniors. The hop sponsored by F. H. A. honored all the football players. The showcase was a main attraction, naming all the boys on the team. Vic Knight topped the evening off as the D. J. These officers of the new Jr. F. H. A. had a big job ahead of them when they started, but President Peggy Dobson, textreme rightl carried out her plans in full, increasing the membership. The seniors under the direction of Mr, Burns presented Thornton Wilder's well-known play Our Town. The unusual thing about this production is the use ol' only the minimum amount of scenery. The cast included: STANDING: Jeanette Potter, Karen Brown, Jeanie Piper, Betty Sample, Mike Beck, l,or- raine Lamm, Dick Hensley, Diana Arnold, Bill Williams, Gene Enlow, Emily Weigel, Skip Johnson, Nancy Morgan, Judy Standiford, Donna Anderson, Sandy VVysong, Joan Smith. Lynda Long, and Marcia Keever. SITTING: Bob Cox, Edith McGinley, Bob Johnson, Myrna Sailor, Bob Scott, Karen White. Jim McClamr0ch, Sharon Tarplee, Bart Updike, Linda Swails, Jerry Pollitt, Ron Lambert, Jim Burkhart, Dave Knoll, Bob Adams, and Jim McMahon. Student directors were Diane Woodward and Sue Todd. , or sts angst I A 3 The rain added to the sorrows of the people of Grovers Corners over the loss of Emily tWebbj Gibbs. With ladders representing upstair rooms, Jim McClamroch and Sharon Tarplee as George and Emily do their homework. George is inter- rupted occasionally by his sister, portrayed by Myrna Sailor.
