OF HO OR WO The high-light of Honor Day 1958 for the juniors was the instal- lation of new members into the National Honor Society. Eighteen juniors were accepted into the organization last year. The D.A.R. award this year went to Janice Gale. This award is given to the senior girl who has shown outstand- ing citizenship in her school career. Janice was chosen by a vote of the faculty from a list of nominations made by the senior class. Also on Honor Day of last year, the candidates were announced to attend Hoosier Girls' and Boys' State at In- diana University. Candidates were chosen on the basis of scholarship and character by the principal, in consultation with the teachers. Chosen to attend were Rosemary Strouse, Judy Standiford, Sharon Tarplee, Linda Swails, Sue Todd, Jeanie Piper, Janice Gale, Jim McMahon, and Bill Williams.

MEMORIES OFTHE OPERETTA The goblins will get you if you don't watch out,' is what Orphant Annie, played by Nancy Lewis, is telling her listeners in the operetta, AN OLD SWEETHEART OF MINE, presented by the Sparkle-Aires, May 16, 1958. AT THE LAST BANQUET i g4F '?'s W y 5 On May 10, 1958, the Juniors and Seniors gathered at the I.U. Medical Center dining room to enjoy the traditional Junior-Senior banquet. Increased class size has caused this banquet to be discontined. WHILE THEY DANCED Dimmed lights and soft music went hand and hand as couples enjoyed an evening full of memories which time can not remove. -3. N2

Finally on the night of the first football game on September 5, Speedway- Snow, rain or clear skies found Mr. Burns, atop this platform. Assisted by Skip Johnson, David Oeth, and scouts of the opponents, he announced the plays and decisions to the specta- tors. ites assembled in large numbers to cheer the Sparkplugs on. PORT The six strutting majorettes, Beverly Trueblood, Sherry Wilson, Di- ane Woodward, Rosemary Strouse, Nita Degener, Donna Keever, along with the band, displayed unique and entertaining routines during half- time. 40- KICK-OFF Displaying the colors before each game was a service performed by the Speedway Legion Color Guard this fall.
