Putting out a newspaper requires a lot of hard work as Sharon Ashley, Carole Evans, Virginia Nizamott, Don Boles, and Jim McMahon will testify. Jim McClamroch, production chief, demonstrates the use of the Gestetner as Jack Albright tries to learn the routine. ' mx 'li 5 -,Ii 'A.. Produce, produce, produce--That is what the iournalism class does. To get the scoop on a news story, to write interesting feature articles, to create controversial editorials, or to pen a birds eye view of a sporting event are the jobs of those pictured above. Often, however, problems arise. Edythe Coulson asks Miss Spencer's advice, as Jim McClamroch tries to solve his own predicament. Editor-in-chief of the Speedway Speedette this year was Nancy Lewis, assisted by Delores Blankin- ship, Edythe Coulson was news page editor with Maryann Dobson as her assistant. Other page editors and their assistants were Editorial page, Donna Wright and Mary King, Feature page, Carole Evans and Sharon Ashley, Sports page, Don Boles and Jim McMahon. Hot dog! Schools aut! and the student body thunders out of the rooms, down the stairs, and through the halls. Their destina- tion?-home, a iob, or a buzz around the Pole. With an enrollment increase come many changes--among them the necessity for a second admission gate at the home football games. Mr. Sallee sells tickets to a Sparlcplug fan, while others wait in line for their turn. Seniors are thought to be pretty special people, therefore, they have a few special privileges. Nancy Straub models her hand painted senior skirt, which is one of the many senior fads. Oh-h-h, What a mess! Sen- iors Nancy Beaman and Marcia Edwards do their spring house --oops!--locker cleaning. .4-

The rain in Spain lies mainly in the plain --Steve Patrick, Bill Beck, Jerry Black, Mike Gradison, Mike Swift, and Mike Taylor practice their diction as they learn the qualifications of a good radio announcer. You'll never hit me, taunt the targets in a game of dodgeball. The members of this eighth grade class are keeping physically fit under the instruction of Mr. Sallee. - 6 How do you peel? ask Judy Kendall and Kae Ewing as Steve Bradley, Kent McCoy and Mr. Sallee offer their mas culine advice to the lady dr: vers. Seventh graders require a lot of instruction before they are prepared to be in the high school band and the Sparkle-Aires. Assisting Mr. Wicker in his difficult task this year were Mr. John Gentry, a student teacher from Indiana State Teachers' College, and Miss Rust,a graduate of ISTC.
