Hot dog! Schools aut! and the student body thunders out of the rooms, down the stairs, and through the halls. Their destina- tion?-home, a iob, or a buzz around the Pole. With an enrollment increase come many changes--among them the necessity for a second admission gate at the home football games. Mr. Sallee sells tickets to a Sparlcplug fan, while others wait in line for their turn. Seniors are thought to be pretty special people, therefore, they have a few special privileges. Nancy Straub models her hand painted senior skirt, which is one of the many senior fads. Oh-h-h, What a mess! Cn Our School Yes, this is our school. Within its walls we have gained six years of knowledge, experience, and maturity. Under the guidance of our teachers we have been instructed in the basic fundamentals of edu- cation, many of which we shall retain, many of which we have al- ready forgotten. We have seen many changes, not only in the world around us, but also in the school of which we are a part. Our music facilities, for example, have expanded from a small room at one end of the mechanical arts department to the modernistic structure pictured above. This building contains large band and chorus rooms, practice rooms, individual compartments for all musical instruments, two lock- er rooms, and a music library. As we shine the spotlight on our most treasured senior memor- ies, we hope that you too will take pleasure in remembering the events of this year---this year of Sputnicks, Edsels, the sack look, and the stroll --most important to us, though, the year of our gradu- ation---1958. -3.

Where We Worked . S Type, type, type, scope, scope, scope, pass the correction fluid ...these sounds are characteristic of the publications room. Putting out a newspaper requires a lot of hard work as Sharon Ashley, Carole Evans, Virginia Nizamott, Don Boles, and Jim McMahon will testify. Jim McClamroch, production chief, demonstrates the use of the Gestetner as Jack Albright tries to learn the routine. ' mx 'li 5 -,Ii 'A.. Produce, produce, produce--That is what the iournalism class does. To get the scoop on a news story, to write interesting feature articles, to create controversial editorials, or to pen a birds eye view of a sporting event are the jobs of those pictured above. Often, however, problems arise. Edythe Coulson asks Miss Spencer's advice, as Jim McClamroch tries to solve his own predicament. Editor-in-chief of the Speedway Speedette this year was Nancy Lewis, assisted by Delores Blankin- ship, Edythe Coulson was news page editor with Maryann Dobson as her assistant. Other page editors and their assistants were Editorial page, Donna Wright and Mary King, Feature page, Carole Evans and Sharon Ashley, Sports page, Don Boles and Jim McMahon.
